All emotion

This is a short story rather than a full novel. I had no problem with this, but I wanted it to be clear to other readers.

While I liked the writing, I wasn't overwhelmed with the story. My main issue is that the story is almost entirely about what is happening in the head of the main character rather than a plot based around actions. Further, the thoughts were all emotional reactions. Another reviewer (Elisa) touched on this and suggested it was a difference between men and women (women think about things more intensely and more emotionally). I agree with that evaluation of male/female thinking. Unfortunately, the male character Hunter saw everything through his emotions, making it more a story of a woman with a penis than the reactions of an average man. I'm a man who enjoys gay love stories, so I like to see the men think/act/behave like men. But most m/m romance readers are female, so I have a different perspective than many other readers.

Short and light...

This is the first book I've read by Cooper Davis, and it seemed...fine. I know that's not a rousing endorsement, but in this genre, it actually kind of is. I liked the two characters, Max and Hunter. They were sweet and fun. The story was another "straight guy goes gay" story. Those can be fun, but often feel very contrived to me. This one was fairly light on plot, too. There was a lot of exploration of, primarily, Hunter's feelings and fears, but no real conflict. It was also kind of sweet that Max could read Hunter so well, but at times it seemed almost intrusively psychic when he'd take one look at Hunter and say something extremely specific that exactly addressed whatever bit of angst Hunter was feeling at the moment. I think the thing that was the most distracting for me was that the book was written in the present tense. That's really unusual and pulled me out of the story once in a while.

Wow, all that sounds like I didn't like this book. I did. It was fun and light. The sex scenes were nicely done, too. And it was perfect for a quick summer read.

Hunter knows his feelings for Max go way beyond friendship, but Hunter lives in fear of coming out to the world and being summarily rejected. However, Max is a very patient man and he is willing to wait for Hunter - to a degree. Max won't make love with Hunter until Hunter is ready to acknowledge to their friends, at the least, and strangers, preferably, that he is Max's partner. Will Hunter be brave enough to face the world?

Boys of Summer is a quick and emotional read that takes you along Hunter's journey to the truth of himself and his relationship with Max. Hunter is easy to understand, if not to like, as he struggles to come to terms with his heart's desire for Max and the implications of pursuing such feelings. Max is absolutely adorable with his incredible patience and willingness to guide Hunter through the murky waters of self-discovery. Pick up Boys of Summer for a fast and emotional read that will satisfy your romantic heart!

Describes every kind of technique

They weren't kidding when they named this book the Ultimate Guide to Guitar Techniques. This book was a great purchase for me. It introduced me to numerous techniques. I could not do a pull off, but after sticking with it, I'm doing the all the time. This book addressed the concept of downward pressure as it applies to the fretting notes with your left hand. The exercises have helped me tremendously. I can stretch, minimize movement and I'm gaining more and more finger independence. This book is defiitely the book that every guitarist should have because it is a bible of guitar techniques. I highly recommend this book. Even if the exercises get a little difficult, I stick with it and, "voila", suddenly, I have it down and it has become a part of my playing style. More than I expected.

For anyone who is trying to learn more about music and the kind of tips that help you grow as a player this book is awesome. I have bought several of the Musician's Institute guitar books and they are all excellent in instruction of music and guitar. I highly recommend any of their books to anyone who is trying to teach themselves guitar playing.

This book covers all the techniques you need to know to play contemporary music and all examples in the book have an audio demonstration. Practice with this book an hour a day, and believe me - you'll see a lot of progress.

John Sculley has always had insatiable curiosity. While growing up in Long Island, New York, and Bermuda, he was fascinated by electronics, particularly television in its early days. By the age of fourteen, he had invented a color picture tube and a remote channel tuner. He was also a ham radio operator and enjoyed communicating with a network of friends around the world.

John has always loved to draw. In fact, he began his graduate studies in architecture, but was convinced to switch to business. As he rose through the ranks of Pepsi, he loved any assignment that involved building, whether it be new packaging or new advertising campaigns like the “Pepsi Generation” or the “Pepsi Challenge.”

He was and still is a natural entrepreneur. And he has used those skills to his advantage ever since.

John’s passion is business, and he is at it every day of the week. Since leaving the corporate world in the early 1990s, John works closely with his two brothers, Arthur and David.

His real soulmate is his wife, Diane, herself an accomplished business woman. She is there at all times, providing guidance, advice, and support. She is the love of his life.

John and Diane Sculley reside in Florida.

I wrote Moonshot! because I believe this is the best time ever to build a transformational business. So, it’s all about the customer, and in my book I try to provide entrepreneurs and business executives with insights and tools they can use to build successful businesses. These are strategies I have learned through a lifetime in business and ones I use every day with my own companies. I also put these game changing strategies in the context of the dramatic changes going on with the middle classes, both in the U.S. and in Emerging markets.

Don A. Ballington, MS, served as program coordinator of the pharmacy technician training program at Midlands Technical College in Columbia, South Carolina for 27 years. He has also served as president of the Pharmacy Technician Educators Council and in 2005 received the council's Educator of the Year award. Thorough and up-to-date resource!

This book is indispensible as a resource. It didn't quite dawn on me though until AFTER I sold my copy to another classmate after the course was finished. So here I am, buying another copy. The CD is the key to learning what's in the book. There are quizzes, practice tests, and flashcards to help assimilate the material. I will be referring back to this book as I continue my education as a pharmacy technician, and I won't be so quick to sell my books anymore!
